AA/AMPS
AA/AMPS is a copolymer of acrylic acid and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS). Due to the presence of carboxyl groups with good scale inhibition and dispersion properties, and highly polar sulfonic acid groups in its molecular structure, it can improve calcium tolerance and has a significant scale inhibition effect on calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, and zinc scale in water, preventing the deposition of iron oxide. It is particularly effective in inhibiting calcium phosphate scale and has excellent dispersion properties. When used in combination with organic phosphonates, a synergistic effect is obvious. It is particularly suitable for water with high pH, high alkalinity, and high hardness and is one of the most ideal scale inhibitors and dispersants for achieving high concentration factor operation. AA/AMPS can also be used as a textile printing and dyeing aid and as a scale inhibitor for pulp in the papermaking system.
